Community Urged to Give Blood in Support of Barksdale Explosion Victim

SHREVEPORT — LifeShare Blood Center is asking for donations for one of the workers injured in the natural gas explosion Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Barksdale Air Force Base.
Family members of Adam Purland say he was one of the workers badly injured in a pipeline explosion.

On Tuesday afternoon, dozens of family and friends began arriving at LifeShare to donate blood. They’re now asking others to donate as well.

The family has set up a replenishment drive for people in the community to donate on Purland’s behalf. Donors can go to any LifeShare blood drive across the Ark-La-Tex to participate.

Be sure to let the staff know you’re donating on behalf of Purland.
Appointments can be made at www.lifeshare.org/give.
