John J. Moulds Laboratories

In 2004, LifeShare’s Board of Trustees adopted a resolution to name the laboratories for world-renowned serologist and immunohematologist John J. Moulds, MT(ASCP)SBB.

After renovation and expansion, the laboratories were formally dedicated on February 19, 2011, as the John J. Moulds Reference and Scientific Support Laboratories.

Mr. Moulds joined LifeShare in 2004, bringing with him the expertise and wisdom of a highly distinguished career in immunohematology. In addition to his expert contributions to the laboratory and creation of the Scientific Support division, Mr. Moulds donated his extensive collection of rare reference cells to LifeShare. 

With this contribution, LifeShare’s rare reference cell collection became one of the largest in the world.  

After Mr. Moulds’ death in 2011, his wife, Dr. Joann Moulds carries on his legacy, continuing to help patients from all over the world and training other immunohematologists in this highly specialized field.
