The 2009 Hurricane Preparedness Blood Drive was a great success. An astounding 203 units were drawn over the course of the 3 day event. Wonderful prizes were given away and 2 RBC donor Francis Miller and his wife, whole blood donor, Jamie (not pictured) took home the grand prize of a portable home generator donated by Thermacon Services.
The 7th Annual Miracle Match for Life Blood and Bone Marrow drive held at Rao’s Bakery was another huge success. 88 units of blood were collected and numerous people signed up on the national bone marrow registry. KFDM Channel 6 broadcast live rom Rao’s for their morning and noon shows. And “Benny” the Blood Drop was also on hand to greet all of the heroes that came to save lives.
