Taylor Nicole Rempe

Taylor Nicole Rempe is a sweet, mischievous, spunky 4-year-old. In October 2002 she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). Acute leukemia is a rapidly progressing disease that results in the accumulation of immature, functionless cells in the marrow and blood. The marrow often can no longer produce enough normal red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Anemia, a deficiency of red cells, develops in virtually all leukemia patients. The lack of normal white cells impairs the body’s ability to fight infections and a shortage of platelets results in bruising and easy bleeding.

Taylor’s treatment consists of chemotherapy, blood products, a host of medications, and a huge amount of antibiotics for two and a half years. Taylor began the long battle to fight this disease in October 2002. For acute leukemia, a complete remission (no evidence of disease in the blood or marrow) that lasts five years after treatment often indicates cure.

Please keep Taylor and her family in your thoughts and payers during their difficult journey toward recovery. Taylor and many other patients fighting this disease need your help. Please give the “Gift of Life”. Be a regular blood donor and give every 8 weeks.
